Description:

In this role as a Research Scientist – Aquaculture is responsible to support the Aquaculture Senior Researcher in the development and management of the aquaculture research programs of the Yas SeaWorld Research and Rescue Center, with an overall focus on nutrition, physiology, health, hatchery production, larviculture, husbandry, conservation projects and sustainable practices for the aquaculture of tropical and sub-tropical marine species including local and ornamental fish.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provides technical, scientific, and strategic support to the Senior Researcher – Aquaculture with regards to the development of the aquaculture research programs.
• Plans, manages and delivers aquaculture research projects as validated by the Senior Researcher – Aquaculture.
• Leads and supports the production of high-quality research reports, scientific publications and other communication material.
• Participates in the daily operations of the aquaculture laboratory and to give assistance on any aquaculture research projects as required.

Job Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Aquaculture Science or related fields.
• 4 years of research experience in a Marine Aquaculture Research facility.
• 3 years of experience with hatchery and nursery techniques, larviculture, live feed and/or brood stock management.
• Demonstrated ability in publishing research results in refereed scientific journals and peer-reviewed publications.
